The Xmas Edit šŸŽ…šŸ¼ Week 3 - Mains & Desserts

Week 3: Mains & Desserts

Welcome to another week of NoMeatDisco goodness!

Weā€™re just one week away from the big day! Hopefully, by now, youā€™ve written your shopping list and started thinking about a game plan to prep the night beforeā€”trust me, itā€™ll make Christmas Day so much smoother.

Every year, the one thing I get asked for the most is ideas for a plant-based main, and I totally get it. The centerpiece of the Christmas dinner plate is always the trickiest part to nail, especially when you want something thatā€™s just as impressive and satisfying as the traditional options. Over the years, Iā€™ve done plenty of experimenting and taste-testing to create mains that really hit the mark, and Iā€™ve included a few of my absolute favorites in this newsletter.

But whatā€™s Christmas without something sweet to round it all off? Iā€™ve also added a selection of indulgent dessertsā€”recipes Iā€™ve loved making (and eating) over the yearsā€”thatā€™ll make the perfect finishing touch to your festive feast.

Mains

HONEY GLAZED ā€œHAMā€, CHEESE & PICKLE SARNIE šŸ„Ŗ

Okay this was special! I love a classic sandwich and itā€™s been so fun recreating them into plant based masterpieces. This celeriac ham was incredible!

Desserts

JAM DOUGHNUT BABKA šŸž

To celebrate the Jewish festival Hanukkah Iā€™ve made a jam doughnut babka. Traditionally Jewish people eat sugary fried treats around this time of year. So I wanted to combine that with the traditional Jewish staple babka.

CRƈME BRULEE RICE PUDDING WITH BROWN BUTTER CARAMEL šŸš

My nan always used to make this homely classic of rice pudding, but I wanted to elevate it and give it a creme brulee top and a delicious brown butter caramel. Why donā€™t you give this a go yourself?
